Is The Motorola Shadow Coming
« on: January 17, 2010, 11:29:17 PM »
Renderings for a new Motorola smartphone have started hitting the net this weekend. The fabled device (via Engadget) looks like a slimmer, streamlined Droid with a better keyboard and a weird side tassle-thing for a wristband. If this device is real (it could very well be a hoax or a fan rendering) it very well could end up being Moto's sequel to the Droid.

Or, as some have speculated, it could be the Nexus Two. Motorola was up there with HTC at the Nexus One launch event, and it is possible this could be the keyboard-packing Enterprise-edition of the smartphone we heard rumors of earlier. There's absolutely no evidence beyond the speculation for this, but it's definitely a possibility.

My question is; what the hell is the point of that wrist strap? I guess it could be vaguely useful, but I don't really see much of a point. Do people have that much of an issue with not dropping their phones? I suspect this little wrist-strap will get in the way more often than it will be useful. Otherwise the "Shadow" has a pretty badass design.
