Internet speed

hi all, i installed 7068
and I think I'm liking what I am testing at the moment.
however, there is one small little thing that kinda bothered me..

I'm using a normal broadband modem and having to key in username and passwords thru windows
and stuff to access the net..
the thing is, the net seems to be ultra slow, if compared with XP..
i should know because I dual booted my system and tested the net on both XP and win7 7068..

could i be doing something wrong?

im not sure why this happends too you, but keep in mind that this is not yet the final release nor even close to the final so there can be bugs / other problems.

if its a real big problem for you than the best thing is using winXP for now and waiting for a next release.

If its browsing thats slow it could be ie8 thats the problem I've experienced slower internet since using it on my copy of 7068

My XP system uses ie7 and its noticeably faster.Also noticed a lot of pages not loading properly or just timing out/hanging.

You could try Mozilla Firefox and see if that improves things.The one thing you cant do is rollback ie8 in W7 because it wont allow you to install an older version of ie.

i don't think you are doing anything wrong.  i have thought ie8 was slower on both x86 & x64 b7068, than my win xp ie7.  hoping for a fix from ms.

7068 my internet was slower. im using 7077 and everything is real fast. try upgrading and see what happens. i think it was the build of ie8

i have to agree with pb3176, after i completed upgrading to b7077 yesterday ie8 is faster and appears to be more stable.  now i want an x64 version for my other 2 systems...JavaJolt

I have to agree guys i just updated to build 77 today and ie8 it definitely seems more stable than the previous build.
I've had no page hangs or time out's since upgrading and it does seem faster.
Hope this lasts..
