In this How-To article, you will learn how to hide the letters of a disk drive. In the past disks did not have a name and were only recognized by their drive letter. Well, times have changed and now you are able to customize the name of each drive name. It is now possible to hide the letters of the disk to help achieve the desired look of your Windows 7.

In order to do so you must press the [Windows] key to display the Start menu .

In the search field type “Folder Options” and validate by [Enter].

Open the View tab, then, in the options list locate the line “show drive letters”.

If the box is checked, Windows 7 will have its classic view with letters unhidden.

If the box is unchecked, Windows 7 will gain a more modern touch by not showing disk letters
