There are a lot of unlicensed copies of Windows 7 out there. The system that they use for Windows 7 is called the Windows Activation Technologies or WAT.
WAT started out as an improvement from the old validation system used in earlier operating systems. There were a lot of negative reactions from the users about the some features of the old system. Like the failure to validate the software right away sometimes resulted in the kill switch features on the computer being activated. Users would be logged out periodically. Microsoft tried to improve on their system but they also unknowingly gave hackers a way of going around the restrictions they are putting in.
This resulting leniency was exploited by hackers who came up with tools that can allow an unlicensed copy of the operating system to work. One of the most used tool right now is Remove WAT.
The following are some simple steps that you can follow in order to use the
Remove WAT tool:
1. Download the tool. There are a lot of sites offering it. In fact it is one of the most common tools used that allows unlicensed Windows to operate.
2. Choose to run the program as administrator.
3. Locate the button there that would say to Remove WAT. Once you hit the button the tool would start to work on removing WAT from the computer.
4. After that easy and painless process you are free to use that unlicensed software. Your computer now should be able to get updates as if it was a genuine copy.
5. If for any reason you want to restore WAT into your computer just run it as administrator and then click on the button that says restore WAT.The window would indicate whether WAT has been removed from the system or not and whether you want to restore it.
