Windows 7 - What Can We Expect?
« on: May 31, 2009, 11:46:43 PM »

It's done! Windows 7 RC (Release Client) is publicly available. It will not expire for a full year until March 2010. This is great news for everyone!

So, you would rather wait until it's finished instead of using a free release client? You are about to do a terrible mistake. I'm so confident that it is going to be the best OS ever, that I already use Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 as my main operating system (this is
Windows 7 - What Can We Expect? not a joke). The beta has gone through a lot of tests and is already a very decent operating system. Mac-Users get ready to buy a real PC!

At first, Microsoft was struggling finding a name for the Vista successor. Eventually, Microsoft decided to simply call it "Windows 7". The codename becomes the actual name (Bye Bye Longhorn!). After all it's a pretty reasonable choice, because for the end-user it is way easier to distinguish between the different versions if the name is a plain number. Will Win 7.0 be better than 6.0 also known as Vista? After all, 7 is a magical number.

So, what can we expect of Windows 7 then?
Improved System Performance
Improved Boot Performance
User-friendly system
Automatic synchronization between PC's in a network
Ribbon interface
Improved Paint, Wordpad
Backwards-compatible to Vista
Improved Network Connection Tools
New Gadgets
Enhanced Explorer
Lightweight WMP
Enhanced Taskbar
Native support for Virtual Drives

The list goes on and on. When will it be sold in stores? Late 2009. There are rumors that it's the 23rd October 2009.
