In an official blog post, Microsoft has revealed Halo: Spartan Assault, a new single-player shooter game that is exclusive to Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8. Microsoft is expected to release this game for $6.99 next month and is the first Halo game to be designed for touch screens.
"Set in the years between Halo 3 and Halo 4, it offers new insights into the first missions of the Spartan Ops program, the history of the Human-Covenant wars, and the rise of Commander Sarah Palmer," Microsoft stated in an official blog post. According to the software giant, this new game should appeal to hardcore and new Halo fans. Rather than playing as a first-person perspective, Halo Spartan Assault is played from a top-down perspective and offers rich storytelling.
The game also features the ability to partake in weekly challenges, leaderboards, and more than 40 in-game achievements and medals. Gamers can also shop for better weapons, armor, or abilities within the game.
Halo Spartan Assault also features the ability to be played on both your tablet and your Windows Phone. Simply pause the game on your Windows Phone and resume where you left off on your Windows 8 or Windows RT device. Take a look at the promo video below! This game is expected in July for $6.99.
