Select and choose, people. Modern versions of Windows come with a myriad of such tricks. And when it comes to Windows 10 keyboard shortcuts, we have six new additions.
All of them have got to do with the new features Microsoft introduced in the upcoming operating system — features like virtual desktops and the returning Start menu. Surely, more such keyboard shortcuts will be part of the final retail version.
But the company took time out to list these new additions:
• Snapping window: WIN + LEFT or RIGHT (can be used with UP or DOWN to get into quadrants)
• Switch to recent window: ALT + TAB (unchanged) – Hold shows new Task view window view, let go and switches to app.
• Task view: WIN + TAB – New Task view opens up and stays open.
• Create new virtual desktop: WIN + CTRL + D
• Close current virtual desktop: WIN + CTRL + F4
• Switch virtual desktop: WIN + CTRL + LEFT or RIGHT
That’ll do it. Done.
If you’re into
the improved command prompt (and many pro users are), then you are sure to find
this very thorough post on keyboard shortcuts or hotkeys for this side of Windows 10.
All of these work dandy in Windows 10 Technical Preview, which you can install from
here.
