Windows 10 said to run smoothly on the budget Lumia 635
« on: February 12, 2015, 02:48:51 PM »
Microsoft has gained a lot of fame for making its mobile operating system run like a champ on the lowest hardware specifications imaginable. Sadly, Windows Phone 8.1 hasn’t necessarily shined in allowing Microsoft to retain this reputation, and with the confirmation that Windows 10 will run on devices with 512MB of RAM, but with less features, you could say we have all the reasons in the world to be worried. If you currently own any budget Lumia, we’ve got some possible good news.

Microsoft’s Gabriel Alu has taken on Twitter to tell us all that he’s currently testing Windows 10 on a budget Lumia 635, and that his experience is “very smooth” so far. Obviously he would probably lose his job if he said otherwise, but it does give the Lumia community hope over what to expect for Windows 10 on existing legacy devices. So far the Lumia 635 is one of the devices with the least amount of horsepower, rocking a Snapdragon 400 processor on 512MB of RAM, meaning that devices like the Lumia 530, Lumia 525 and Lumia 520 should run Windows 10 without a problem.

All this is sadly just speculation for now, but we will share some facts once we get our hands on the official Microsoft preview for Windows phones.

@Aakash006sharma @lumia I rotate through devices, but right now daily driver is a 512MB Lumia 635. W10 is very smooth on it overall.
