Windows 10 For Phones Gets Slow Motion Video Recording
« on: March 21, 2015, 01:08:01 AM »
Feature parity! Microsoft are planning another new feature for Windows 10 for Phones that would better allow the platform to compete with rivals like iOS and Android.

A presentation slide from the company at the WinHEC conference confirmed that Microsoft is not only enhancing support for 4K video capture and independent flash control on its mobile operating system, but also face detection and zoom options during video capture.

Same goes for HDR mode videos and extensions to variable photo sequence.

But that’s not all.

Microsoft is also building support for variable frame rate, which means users will have the ability to shoot videos in slow motion — a feature that has been available on competing platforms like iOS for an year or so.

In another unexpected move, there is possibility that Microsoft might allow for the possibility of taking photos in a square aspect ratio.

Now this is a feature that is perfect for social website and networks like Instagram, where photos in square dimensions look better. Again, this is something that BlackBerry pioneered with their newer devices, but options like this are sure to be appreciated by Windows Phone fans.

Particularly, if they come to budget and affordable handsets.

No confirmation whether all these features will debut with Windows 10 for Phones later this year, but at least the company seems to be focusing on enhancing the imaging capabilities of its mobile OS.
