Microsoft Has A New Activation System For Windows 10
« on: July 07, 2015, 01:55:30 AM »
Protection system, WZor says, but the famous leaker is very obviously referring to the new activation system Microsoft has in place for Windows 10, their new operating system.

The leaker confirmed this while posting a batch of screenshots from Windows 10 build 10163.

Which is the newest version distributed to close Redmond partners that we know of, and has been confirmed to exist.

WZor says that talking about it or leaking it right now is rather impossible — as Microsoft could easily find out who did it. But this new protection is in place, and is sure to be part of the upcoming OS when it officially launches later this month, on July 29.

This, obviously, is not the first time we’ve heard about such a thing.

That Microsoft was developing a new activation system in order to combat piracy has been known for a while. Since last year, actually. Along with the fact that the Windows operating system is a product that has perhaps the most widespread unauthorized usage when it comes to software.

Our most solid hint came late last month.

When details emerged that the Redmond based software titan had given up on product keys in Windows 10 and instead opted to go in with a new system for activation and authentication.

We’ll probably have to wait a few more weeks for the full details, but something is definitely up here.
