AMD is still pumping out the graphics hardware, as the company continues to try and battle Intel and Nvidia in the PC marketplace.

Driving that hardware is a new set of drivers and software called Radeon Software Crimson, that creates a virtual operating system for the powerful graphics processors within many PCs.

The move comes as drivers become ever more complicated and are effectively their own OS. Offering much-needed stability and performance improvements, it is due before the end of the year.

Promising benefits for Windows 10 games, PC gamers, developers and the latest DirectX 12 cards, all AMD users should keep an eye out for when these new drivers (sorry, OS) go live.

With a Windows 10 friendly application, it should help demystify some of the tech behind gaming for casual users, while allowing hardcore gamers absolute control over their system speeds and temperatures.

The real question is will Nvidia respond with its own Gfx OS, to revamp its own GeForce driver tools?
