First Windows 10 VR Headsets To Start Shippping By March
« on: January 18, 2017, 05:58:12 AM »

These are, of course, the same headsets that were shown off at CES 2017.

And they looked quite ready at that time.

But according to this report, these headsets will not be competing with other, more expensive virtual reality devices on the market like Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. Instead, these are going to be reserved only for developers.

In fact, the software titan is expected to reveal more details about these new mixed reality headsets during a web show that it has planned for February 8. This is what you can expect from the show, in case you follow it:

■ Learn what’s new with Windows developer tooling: UWP tooling, BASH, Developer mode, and more

■ Learn about the latest XAML advancements, and how UWP helps you build Windows apps that are more personal and productive

■ The developer story behind the recent announcements of Cortana skills and the new Windows mixed reality headsets

■ A live Q&A panel, where anyone can ask their questions
The annual Game Developers Conference, GDC, is also set to take place next month, in San Francisco, California from February 27 to March 3.

And it is as good a time as any for Redmond to further detail these VR devices.
