Microsoft Provides A Glimpse At Project NEON User Interface
« on: February 09, 2017, 05:15:14 PM »

Or should it be said, the UI changes that Project NEON will bring when it goes live for the Windows 10 platform, hopefully sometimes later this year with the Redstone 3 update.

This new design language has been a bit of a rage lately.

Even though Microsoft is yet to provide complete details on it.

However, the company hosted its Windows Developer Day event today, and one of the sessions at the event was titled ‘Build Beautiful, Engaging UX’. This is where Microsoft offered a quick little glimpse at the changes coming to the interface of its operating system.

The revisions actually appeared in a single screenshot that served as a title slide at the start of the presentation.

You can take a look at it below, straight from the live stream:

The screenshot very much matches the images that actually leaked in January, revealing a much cleaner interface with fewer fussy details. And while it does not show much more than what we already know, it serves as a confirmation that Redmond is actually working on something big here.

Something big that may actually change quite a bit in terms of design by the time it launches.

According to the company, these UI revisions are all part of the Redstone waves, which also includes in the upcoming Creators Update. In other words, many of the APIs and other resources required to take advantage of these are already baked into the platform.

Developers can use them before the Redstone 3 update arrives and officially introduces these across the OS as a whole.
