Microsoft has just announced the release of new Windows 10 21H2 and 21H1 builds for Insiders in the Dev channel. Until now, there was little difference between the 21H2 and 21H1 builds in this channel, but the just-released 21H2 build 19044.1198 finally enables the three new features that Microsoft detailed for the Windows 10 21H2 update back in July.
Here are the three new features that are going live in the 21H2 build 19044.1198 today:
Adding WPA3 H2E standards support for enhanced Wi-Fi security
Windows Hello for Business introduces a new deployment method called cloud trust to support simplified passwordless deployments and achieve a deploy-to-run state within a few minutes
GPU compute support in the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (EFLOW) deployments for machine learning and other compute intensive workflows
For Release Preview Insiders who aren’t already on the 21H2 bandwagon, today’s 21H2 build 19044.1198 is available to download via the “seeker” experience in Windows Update. This build is also available for Insiders who were moved from the Beta Channel to the Release Preview Channel because their PC did not meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11.
Today’s 21H2 build 19044.1198 also includes the same list of fixes as the just-released 21H1 build 19043.1198, which is available for Release Insiders who have yet to opt in to download 21H2 builds. Both updates share the same KB5005101 number in Windows Update, and you can find their common
