A couple of days back we had reported of Texas Instruments(TI) announcing their intention to showcase their very own tablet running Windows 8 at CES 2012. Well they have certainly kept their promise by showcasing it on a tablet with TI’s soon to be released OMAP4470 processor. Rightfully so, TI did indeed show a tablet running a pre-beta version of Windows 8 this week at CES 2012.

Brooke Crothers, the demo took place with some restrictions as to no permission for making video, which was to maintain exclusivity amongst the elite few present at the CES. He goes on to state,
TI’s Crean demonstrated live scrolling on Windows 8 Explorer on the CNN news site. Scrolling was fluid and I didn’t see the jerkiness that I do get, by the way, with my Verizon-Motorola XyBoard tablet on Android3.2.
The article also stated the salient features of the soon to be released OMAP4470 processor which are slated for release some time this year.
He adds,
The OMA4470 chip is rated at 1.8GHz, 20 percent faster than the 4460. TI has also tweaked the memory circuitry to wring out more performance and included a faster PowerVR SGX544 GPU, which TI is also using in OMAP5. In fact, the 4470 can be seen as a stepping stone to OMAP5.
