++HOT++POSTED TODAY++HOT++
Maybe you won't have the chance to get pumped and show off your gold RTM DVD like Steve Ballmer, but if you've got a TechNet/MSDN subscription your downloads are finally ready.

This means that those of you with access who have (wisely) avoided downloading anything from other sources can now get in on the action. As you can see in the screenshot of my Google Reader feed, the Windows Automated Installation Kits are also available.

If you've got a subscription, head on over and get your download on - and enjoy your shiny new Windows 7 RTM!

How long do you think until a torrent appears or at least some leaked keys?

Note for non technet plus subscriber:
If you are not a subscriber, you'll need to wait for some time. Microsoft will release Windows 7 RTM to market on October 22nd.

What are the chances of these keys being blacklisted later by Microsoft? Genuine then becomes non-Genuine.

I don't suppose you could find some Home Premium keys on MSDN?  These work, just not for Home Premium.

Maybe a Starter edition too, need to test netbooks before we make everyone switch.

Sorry I have been a bit inactive, but as for waiting till october 22... I have been running every version of windows7 since build 7000, I don't want to have to wait any longer and I really don't want to run XP untill then. I have already prepaid for my three copies of windows 7, but it would be kinda nice if on the 22 I could just change the cd key without having to reformat :P right now I am running with build 7600 that was released on this site where I had to download it in parts, I believe it was the gold copy, but then after I installed that one this post came out and now I am not sure if I am going to be putting another version on later or what ;P

Lemme know please.

Hi m0nk3y,

If you have downloaded a "Retail Channel" copy of Windows 7 RTM, you will be prompted during the setup process to choose which version of Windows you would like to install.

At this point all you need to do is choose which version you have ordered and install without a key.

You will need to rearm Windows 7 (the process for extending your trial period legally and using a built-in Windows feature) every 29 days or so.

This is easily done by opening a Command Prompt as an Administrator (search for cmd by clicking the Start ORB and typing 'CMD' then right click CMD.EXE and choose Run As an Administrator). At the command prompt type:

slmgr.vbs -rearm

and reboot your PC.

you now have another 30 days to activate your machine. You can do this a total of 3 times before you have to enter a key giving you a total of 120 days of trial use.

It's best to do this a day or so before your 30 days is up, but it's possible to rearm even once the 30 day trial is up so not the end of the world if you forget ;)

I hope this helps
