Play Portable Games from a USB Flash Drive at Work
« on: March 15, 2013, 11:29:21 PM »
Everyone likes to take a break from real work at the office and play fun games online. But some corporations use filters like WebSense to block gaming sites, Facebook, and other time wasting or inappropriate sites. If you want to play games at work, and they’re blocked, put some on your USB flash drive and play them from your desktop.

Games from PortableApps

Portable Apps is a popular suite of portable programs you can run from your USB flash drive. One of the categories is games, and there’s plenty of them. There’s different styles of games like, Adventure, Arcade, Action, Board and Card games like Chess and Solitaire.

Pen Drive Apps

Another good source of games you can play from a USB flash drive are at pendriveapps.com. One of the cooler games is the first-person shooter, Urban Terror.

Microsoft Classic: 3D Pinball Space Cadet

Another popular and nostalgic game you might want to put on your workstation is the Microsoft classic 3D Pinball Space Cadet. It’s not a “portable app” per se, and you can install it on your computer. But to run it from your flash drive, just extract the files to it, and double click the Pinball.exe icon.

Then you can enjoy what’s one of my favorite pinball games ever, and it runs on Windows 8 too!

If you look around, you’ll find several groovy games you can put on a USB Flash drive and play. Your best option might be to load a flash drive up at home, and slip it at work and enjoy your Friday before the bell rings.
