IFA2015 Kicks Off With Intel Keynote in Berlin
« on: September 02, 2015, 02:46:34 PM »

Berlin’s consumer electronics trade show, IFA2015 kicked off this morning with a keynote from Intel’s SVP of client computing, Kirk Skaugen.

The chip company has officially launching its full sixth-generation Skylake range of CPUs and is showing off a range of new Windows 10 hardware from partners at the German event.

To highlight how the web continues to evolve, Intel webcast its event on Twitch and Periscope, but no YouTube feed for traditionalists. A replay should be up soon.

Other major players showing their wares at IFA2015 are Asus (who will broadcast their show), Lenovo (also using Periscope), Toshiba and more. We’ll have updated stories on the latest hardware as products are announced. Microsoft will be taking the stand later in the week.

During their keynote speech, Intel reiterated that Skylake and Windows 10 were designed to work together. Intel showed off a new tablet from HP, check back for news on that, 4K video and gaming on notebooks from Toshiba and Lenovo.

They also demoed the facial recognition in lieu of passwords with a pair of twins to show how fool proof it is.

With Skylake now officially out there, expect a rapid pace of change in stores as dealers try to get rid of old stock and promote the latest, shiniest models from vendors.

Expect plenty more news from IFA2015 over the week.
