The latest AdDuplex data is out, and that tracking shows that while Windows 10 Mobile has increased its share of the ecosystem compared to last month, growth, however, has slowed.
Microsoft’s newest mobile platform only grew 0.5% in the last few weeks, in contrast to an increase of 1.2% during the previous month.
Interestingly, none of the growth came from upgrades from earlier versions of the OS, and almost all of it appears to be from sales of new Windows 10 handsets. Case in point, Windows Phone 8.1 is still powering 78.8% of devices, identical to last month.
And while Windows Phone 7 and 8 saw modest declines, the fact is that these versions of the operating system do not provide a direct upgrade path to Windows 10 Mobile.
One can pretty much make a case that most of these users that have devices that are eligible to upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile have done so already. Add to the fact that Microsoft is not actively pushing the upgrade to the new OS, and instead requires users to opt in, has left many of them unaware.
Here are the charts:

These numbers were gathered from worldwide usage on June 21, 2016, by the way.
After quite some time, AdDuplex has also collected and published details of Windows 10 PC and tablet manufacturers. They used to do that back in the Windows RT days. And while these numbers do not represent actual sales of units, they do reveal the proportion of active devices from manufactures.
HP, it seems, is the king of the ring here, with more than 22% of devices running Windows 10, while Dell is far behind with 12.42%. Lenovo has a share of around 11%, while the Surface lineup currently makes up only 3% of Windows 10 devices.
A breakdown of Surface devices, however, shows that the Surface Pro 3 and its successor account for almost two-thirds of all Microsoft machines running Windows 10.
In fact, the Pro 4 outnumbers the Surface Book by a stunning 9 to 1.
