Microsoft has capped up a busy week of build releases with a new Windows 10 SDK Preview build for developers, which is rather interestingly listed as version 15003.
Yes, you read that right.
No, that’s not a typo.
The version number is actually 15003, which as you may recall is not an actual public release of the Windows 10 Insider Preview.
That one was build 15002, which was then swiftly followed by build 15007.
What this means is that you will still need build 15003 or greater to use the SDK. Which is to say, you will need the version Microsoft released yesterday to the Fast ring of the Windows Insider program, and that is build 15007.
As for what’s new in this SDK build:
■ This Windows SDK includes updates and additions to the Windows namespace.
■ Debugging Tools for Windows has been updated with a few new features, including JavaScript scripting and extensibility.
So, two important additions to the software development kit this time around, in addition to quite a few API updates that developers need to be aware of. These are almost 1700 lines worth of updates, so be sure to check them out at the
blog post here.
There are a couple of known issues listed there, too.
Including the fact that there is no emulator with this released, and you will need to be running Visual Studio 2017 Preview in order to use the SDK, a release candidate of which has been available since November.
Ready, then?
