Microsoft's new Surface Go gets a day one firmware update
« on: August 04, 2018, 02:42:34 PM »
Yesterday, Microsoft started selling the Surface Go, its new 10-inch tablet that starts at $399. Just as you'd expect from a new product, it got a firmware update on the very first day.

It's not a series of driver and firmware updates like other Surface devices have been getting though; indeed, this seems like a simple day one stability improvement.

Here's the full changelog:

As you can see, it's a small update, at least in comparison with other ones that we've been seeing. Microsoft didn't include its Value Indicator chart on the Surface Go Update History page, so we can't see what specific areas this improves upon.

To update your new Surface Go, just head to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates. If you're not in a rush, Windows Update will eventually install it automatically. Oddly enough, Microsoft hasn't yet published drivers and firmware bundle to download for the product, so Windows Update is actually your only option.
