HELLO
« on: March 22, 2009, 03:59:34 AM »
Just want to say hello and thanks for the help so far.  I have posted a couple of small problems and have received excellent answers very quickly.  I'm currently using w7 7057 x64 and have been very impressed.  I had xp64 installed on this computer i bought but when i had a problem, I used the install disk supplied and stated that my key was invalid. (i guess buying from a computer swap meet can be risky)  I called Microsoft and they said i was a victim of PIRACY and must purchase a new key DAMN.  Luckily this beta version is out.  If anyone has a torrent for xp 64 or vista 64 I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks again for all the help.

If you have activated Windows 7 build 7057 x64 with one of the beta keys, your copy of that build will remain activated until March of 2010 at which point it will expire
So no need to grab for xp/ vista right now! :) :) :)

well the 7 is great but I also do a little work for a local company that has some custom POS software called Pawnsoft. and it won't work wtih 7.  But if this is the wrong place to ask for such a thing, I truely apologize and won't mention it again.  thanks for the info on how long the win7 will last though, that will be great for my home system.

yes, when i try to install the program I get the error with the choice to reinstall with recommended settings, or the program installed correctly.  This is after I tried several times just to install it using "troubleshoot compatibility" finally it installed under administrator but will not run.  The guy who wrote the program wants way too much money to make it work for win7.  he's not interested in trying for now because the businesses he works with mostly use xp anyway.  I only need the progarm on my computer because i do some auditing, file filtering, data entry, etc. for this Pawn shop.  I'm kinda messed up with a failing kidney transplant and not able to work a regular job.  Anyway thanks for the advice and i'll enjoy the win7 on my desktop while searching for an answer for my laptop to get it up and running for my side work.

I don't think you can find it.  The developer makes you sign a document and only you can borrow the installation disc for 1 day, then it must be returned.  I tried to copy the disk but it has some protection on it and also requires a different key everytime you install it.  desiged especially for Pawn Shops/Personal Loan companies who deal mainly in cash with small collateral.
