Hey I'm rook.

I made a windows7news account and then this one, they are exactly the same?

Anyways, I find it kind of funny how this is set up--the folder wasn't even renamed to /forum or what have you it's just /smf (simple machine forums). riso, if you're going to remake it use phpb3 or something good. >.>

Hi Rook Welcome here.

About this:
Quote
the folder wasn't even renamed to /forum or what have you it's just /smf (simple machine forums).
Standard the Smf forum get's installed at /smf and I didn't wanted to change that to /forum for this reason:
the old Forum went allmost down under spammers, porn, home loans etc. and those Spambots mostens enter by /Forum so it is to protect us from Spamming!
at /Forum is a registerpage who redirects to the smf registerpage so one extra step at the registering process.
It's easy to make this Forum at /Forum but why should we do that? like this it works also perfect.

No not the same but better and the whole site and Forum is Adfree and Spamfree and we have a big dedicated staff at the old Forum it was mostly only me.

use phpb3
in the future we'll do that tnx for the suggestion

Don't forget: we are just about 6 weeks active with this Forum so somethings get re-shaped in the next weeks.
I hope You enjoy Your stay here.

Hi Rook, we purposely chose for this name as pointed out by Riso, as the word forum easily lures spammers. Riso is very keen on keeping the forum spamfree, so yeah.

It's not that big of a deal is it?

Anyways welcome and have fun here  ;D

Just found it strange, but if you have things like simple questions and captchas on signup that usually deters bots.

As for the choice of forum software, it's just my opinion phpbb3 is a more updated software to use.
