Subscription-based music service Rhapsody has dropped its price from $15 per month to $10 per month (
http://blog.rhapsody.com/2010/04/kindalikeabigdeal.html). That means you can listen to any of the 9 million songs available in the Rhapsody library on any supported device for $10 per month, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying and downloading each song outright.
The difference is that if you stop paying your monthly subscription all the music goes away. That doesn’t happen if you have MP3s. But you can also purchase MP3s from the Rhapsody MP3 store (
http://mp3.rhapsody.com/home.html)(or Amazon, eMusic, or any number of other sites, for that matter), if that’s more your style.
The new $10 Rhapsody Premier music streaming service is available for PC, a variety of home audio devices (
http://www.rhapsody.com/electronics/homeaudio), and smartphones including the iPhone and Google Android. In fact, the Android app (
http://blog.rhapsody.com/2010/04/rhapsody-makes-android-sing.html)just went live in the Android Market today. A BlackBerry client is expected soon as well.
The Rhapsody app for Android has been available in beta since January, but today the company removed the beta label.
