Turning OFF Services in Windows 7 Beta
« on: February 21, 2009, 11:15:10 PM »
As always Black Viper is on top of things, and has posted his list of Tentative Services he has turned off in his installation and configuration of Windows 7.

If you are not aware of Black Viper his list of Services typically ones that consume an abundance of system resources. He explains the Services , how Microsoft defines them, then he defines them in everyday speak, and in what state is safe to run that particular Service in.

Keep in mind these are suggestions only and may not work on your system or configuration, therefore backing up your Service List and its state is Highly recommended.

He has been doing this since Windows 2000, online and appeared on numerous talk shows.  Even if you take no action on these recommendations, it provides very interesting, educational, and informative reading.

Have a good read.
