Microsoft says Windows 7 on track for 2009 release

Microsoft said in a statement that Windows 7, the successor to Windows Vista, "is tracking well for holiday availability." Microsoft has been under pressure to make Windows 7 available promptly, as its predecessor Vista suffered from a delayed release and drew widespread criticism.
