Microsoft codenames: Do all roads really lead to 'Rome'?

The first 2011 update to my Microsoft Codename Tracker chart is done and ready for download.

As usual, there are a handful of new codename additions since last month’s chart. One of the newest is “Rome,” a codename I believe will become more visible as 2011 progresses.

Rome, my sources say, is Mediaroom for Windows Phone 7. Mediaroom is Microsoft’s IPTV offering, I’ve got more details on Rome in the introduction to this month’s Codename Tracker.

The Codename Tracker PDF is the same chart I use myself to keep up with the codenames of products and technologies coming from Microsoft.

Hmmm... the last time they used Greek/Roman codenames we were given XP.  That may be a good sign (unless it comes with the exploits XP had during its inception  )
