Intel Oak Trail Z670 Arriving In March – Windows 7 Tablets Coming Soon After

Intel has been hard at work for the last nine months shaking out the bugs on its new Oak Trail platform, and the first working Atom branded silicon is expected to start rolling off the line early next month. Several tablets and netbooks running the 1.5GHz Atom Z670 are expected to launch before the end of March and we can’t wait to see if Atom finally has what it takes to properly drive Windows 7.
 
The 3W TDP of the Atom Z670 is particularly exciting because it’s cool enough to be used in a fan-less design, and the performance should be considerably “peppier” than last generation Atom. NetbookNews.com expects that by the end of March you should be able to find the new chip in the Fujitsu Stylistic Q550, the Samsung Sliding PC 7, and the MSI Windpad 100w.
