How to use Windows 8 CP a little help.
1-Microsoft removed the start button but you can point your mouse to the bottom left edge of the screen to switch between metro and desktop
2-mouse wheel works for scrolling
3-to quickly switch between metro apps point to the top left edge of the screen and move down along the side to see thumbnails and right click to close or snap apps
4-you can also close metro apps by dragging the top side of the screen to the bottom or drag left and right to snap (just like dragging title bars of windows and snapping them)
5-if you right click on the bottom left corner of the screen (where the start button used to be) a small menu will appear that has many important functions as found in the old start menu (show desktop-run-search-control panel....)
6-pointing to the top right or bottom right edge of the screen will show some icons.. click on the "settings" icon to set the current app settings
7-also in settings you will find the power icon that will allow you to shut down-restart... or click"more pc settings" to go to the new control panel
8-to log off or switch users right click on your user picture in the metro start
9-to find all applications installed on your computer including accessories..etc. right click on empty space in start screen and click "all apps" in the bottom
10-to search for anything: just start typing in the start screen-- this is also used to run commands
11-you can pin applications-folders-control panel items to the start screen: just right click and choose pin..
12-to run programs as administrator or uninstall or unpin programs in the start screen: just right click on them and use the bar in the bottom.
