If you have downloaded Windows 8 Release Preview and tried to install it on your PC, but now getting an error message like this - “Your PC’s CPU isn’t Compatible with Windows 8″ during the installation process, then here I have a solution for you.

Some users have also reported that they are getting this error even if their computers meets the minimum requirements which are needed to install Windows 8 Release Preview (RP).

Another common error message being recieved is:

Your computer needs to restart.
Please hold down the power button.
Error code: 0x0000005D
Parameters:
0x030F0209
0x756E6547
0x49656E69
0x6C65746E
Although, I would recommend you to at first have a look at the minimum requirements of Windows 8 Release Preview below before trying to find an alternative solution to fix up this problem :

Processor: 1 GHz or faster

 ■ RAM: 1 GB for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit

 ■ Hard Disk Space: 16 GB for 32-bit or 20 GB for 64-bit

 ■ Graphics Card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

To fix that issue, simply make sure your CPU supports NX capabilities. You may didn’t notice whether your CPU has NX feature or not. Or probably it’s just somehow disabled by default.

So go ahead re-boot your PC >> enter BIOS setup screen >> go to security settings >> then enable NX (No execute bit) or equivalent XD (Execute Disable bit). Do not forget to save your BIOS settings before re-booting.

That’s it. You may now proceed Windows 8 RP installation again using boot-able DVD ISO image you’ve downloaded and burned. And if somehow you get bluescreen error, it means your PC’s CPU doesn’t support NX technology.
