Windows 8 has an awesome feature of screenshots which lets you take screenshot with just two buttons and the screenshots are saved automatically. But, by default, the screenshots are saved in your ‘Pictures’ library under the ‘Screenshots’ folder. Good news is that you can change that folder to any of your choice and all your future screenshots would be saved there.

Changing the screenshots save folder doesn’t need any special knowledge and the steps for changing the folder are simple. Also, you can choose from a variety of folders in your hard drive, your network location or even on external storage device like an USB etc.

Just follow the instructions below to change the screenshots save folder to your desired one.

Instructions:

 • First of all, go to ‘Pictures’ library by typing the ‘Pictures’ in your Start Screen. ‘Pictures’ would be showed in results. Press it.

 • Your ‘Pictures‘ library would open. Here you would see a ‘Screenshots’ folder. Select that folder and press the ‘Properties’ button from the menu ribbon under ‘Home’.

 • A pop-up window would open entitled as ‘Screenshots Properties’. Here go to the ‘Location’ tab.

 • Here you would see the location where your screenshots folder in located. Press ‘Move’.

 • Another pop-up window would open. Here select the folder where you want the screenshots to be saved in future e.g. I selected my ‘Sources(F:)/Screenshots’ folder.

 • Once selected, press ‘Select Folder’ and that window would close but, another message would be showed prompting ‘Do you want to move all of the files from the old location to the new location’. Press ‘Yes’ if, you want to move all your current Screenshots to the new location or No, if you don’t want to move the screenshots.

 • Windows will now copy all your current ‘Screenshots’ files to the new location. It may take some time depending you how much your screenshots are in size.

 • After the copying of files have completed, simply navigate to the new location and all your previous screenshots would be there. Also, your future screenshots would be saved in that new folder.

 • That’s all! Now, you don’t have to navigate to ‘Screenshots’ folder in library to find the screenshots you have taken.
