Enable or disable flip ahead in IE 11 in windows 8.1
« on: June 27, 2013, 06:47:42 PM »
Flip Ahead is a completely new forward button in IE 10 and IE11 of Windows 8 and windows 8.1 that allows users to quickly navigating to next page in a website you are browsing either by swiping across the screen or by clicking on the flip ahead button.

Microsoft, introduced this feature in Windows 8 for internet explorer 10 Metro Version. Microsoft’s latest OS Windows 8 comes with two versions of built-in web browser i.e. Internet Explorer 10. First Version is generally a desktop version similar to any other version of IE available on previous Windows OS's & the second one is a completely newer one which is designed for Metro UI and mainly for touch purposes.

By default the “Flip Ahead” feature is not enabled on Windows 8 nor windows 8.1 until you will manually make it enable. However, as I mentioned earlier, that ”Flip Ahead” feature only works on Metro UI in windows 8 but - Flip-ahead can now be enabled in the desktop mode of IE11 with windows 8.1 and can be found in the middle-right area of a web page while browsing.

How to Enable or disable flip ahead in IE 11 in windows 8.1 ?

 1. Open Desktop version of Internet Explorer.

 2. Navigate to Tools >> Internet Options.

 3. Under ‘Advanced’ tab looking for “Enable Flip Ahead” option.

 4. Enable the option by checking the box. (See the screenshot)

 5. Click ‘Apply’ & then ‘OK’ button for the changes.

 6. Thus you can activate “Flip Ahead” feature on Windows 8. 1.
