Advertising one product around the world can be a fraught business, with terms having different meanings, users having different expectations and so on.

Through all that, Microsoft needs to be consistent with its messaging for Windows 10. So, it comes as no surprise that this French advert seems to follow most of the key themes that the company is trying to promote. Just with a little Gallic charm of its own.

The French advert for Windows 10 appeared on Microsoft France’s YouTube channel. It doesn’t need much in the way of translation but ‘Facile’ is easy, ‘Cortana’ is, um, Cortana and ‘Gratuit’ is free.

Looking around the world, the Windows UK and Brazil YouTube accounts haven’t been updated in over a year, slackers! Windows Japan was last updated a couple of months ago. How’s your local outpost doing when it comes to promoting Windows 10?

Sure, it looks like Microsoft has some effort to getting its worldwide divisions in line. But, with the product nearing launch and stores getting ready to sell upgrades with the “Do Great Things" tag, things are coming on well.
