Windows 10 PCs Will Go On Sale On July 29
« on: July 14, 2015, 02:45:24 PM »
False alarm, folks! Microsoft have confirmed that Windows 10 PCs will, in fact, be available for purchase on launch day, which for the new operating system is Wednesday, July 29.

If anything, it will be just like any other version of the OS, where it is preinstalled on a range of new devices from PCs and laptops to tablets and whatnot.

A previous report cast some doubt on whether Redmond would be able to bring these devices preinstalled with Windows 10 to market on day one — but it actually turns out that this remains the plan for the company.

In a statement to Bloomberg, a Microsoft spokesperson said that hardware manufacturers like Dell, HP, Acer and Lenovo will support this effort.

Which is another way to say that devices made by these vendors will be up for grabs on July 29 at both online and physical retail stores. So if you are planning to buy a Windows 10 PC, you will be able to do so without having to wait.

Obviously, purchasing a new computer with Windows 10 preinstalled is one of the fastest ways to get the new operating system, as Microsoft plans to upgrade Windows 7 and 8.1 machines in waves.

Windows Insiders will also get the final bits on July 29, just for the record.
