With just a little more than a week left until the RTM of Windows 10, Microsoft is pulling out more promotional tools to support the launch of their latest operating system.

We've recently seen TV spots with cute kids, a series of advertisements for 10 reasons to love Windows 10, and Microsoft's own "Bleed Blue" campaign on its Redmond campus.

Now Microsoft is giving its fans a way to show their enthusiasm for the new operating system with Windows 10 profile picture badges for both Facebook and Twitter.

Gabe Aul, the General Manager for Microsoft's OSG Data and Fundamentals team, posted on twitter his new profile picture with his "Do Windows 10" badge and link for you to create your own.

Users can upload a Facebook or Twitter profile picture and choose where to place the “Do Windows 10″ Message.

That can then be loaded to their social media profile, including LinkedIn, although probably best not do that if you work for Google or Apple.

Already, the idea seems to be spreading pretty fast, following on from the rainbow tags and other recent social media campaigns.

Will it help raise awareness on social media? Will kids really be wondering “What’s Windows 10?” We doubt it, but anything that helps the general vibe for the launch has to be good.

Let us know how or if you plan on promoting Windows 10 as launch day looms.

To upgrade click this link, which will direct you to a page asking if you want to update either your Facebook or Twitter profile pictures. You can either apply the badge to your existing profile picture or choose a different one either from your Facebook photos, or by uploading an all together new one.

Are you going to sport the new badge across your social media? Let us know what you think of it in the comment section below.
