VAIO’s new Phone Biz Windows 10 Mobile smartphone. It’s looking like a solid midrange device with a decidedly upscale design, and so far seems limited to the Japanese market. A video has surfaced that provides a look at the Phone Biz, and it’s definitely an attractive device.

The phone’s specs are good, but not class-leading:

The handset sports a 5.5-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal. Users looking for extra storage can get a microSD card slot as well. There’s a 13MP camera for photos and videos, as well as a 5MP front-facing camera, a 2,800 mAh battery and ship with Windows 10 Mobile as its operating system.

The VAIO Phone Biz will be available on NTT DoCoMo for ¥50,000 ($424). We’ll be keeping our eye on this and other third-party Windows 10 Mobile devices. A robust OEM ecosystem in smartphones to rival the Windows 10 ecosystem in general would go a long way to helping Microsoft gain some success mobile.
