How fast is fast, and
how soon is soon? After rumors that Microsoft was ready to unleash a new Windows 10 Mobile build for Insiders, the company has done just that.
As
speculated, this new version is build 10586.107, and it contains three major bug fixes.
One of which is where in some cases a device could be missing tiles on the Start screen after going through the device out of box experience, as Gabriel Aul explained. No new features in this release, and just like before, Redmond has exclusively focused on fixing bugs.
And improving performance, and all that.
While this incremental increase in build number is light on new features, it does bring along a small selection of fixes.
Namely:
■ Fixed an issue where in some cases a device could be missing tiles on the Start screen after going through the device out of box experience.
■ Improved support in Narrator to speak in multiple languages.
■ Improvements to the device reset experience when BitLocker\Device Encryption is enabled by enterprise policy or by the user.
This new build is shipped as a cumulative update — meaning installation should be much faster and easier compared to the previous delivery method of releasing full ROMs for all devices.
And as you may have guessed, this new version is only available for users that are enrolled in the fast ring of the Windows Insider Program.
But it’s out there, so give it a try and let us know how you find the experience after doing so.
