Windows 10 Redstone 2 Likely To Be Version 1703
« on: October 15, 2016, 03:34:09 AM »

We have evidence. Evidence that the next version of Microsoft’s OS, Windows 10 Redstone 2, is very likely to be version 1703, essentially providing an insight into when it will be released.

Or, at least, when we can expect it to be out.

The next big feature update for the operating system is currently under development, as the second wave of Redstone. Previous rumors stated that this update would not be launching until April 2017, and while this could still be the case, the version number states otherwise.

Year and month here translates to March 2017.

Then again, the Anniversary Update has the numbers 1607 next to it. This version, although scheduled for July, did not ship until August 2.

Development schedules can be awfully sketchy!

Nevertheless, regular Microsoft watcher and serial tipster WalkingCat is at it again, this time with a probable version number of Redstone 2. And the numbers show it as version 1703, and this is what Microsoft is actually calling this version:

Solid stuff.

Now, of course, this is poised to be one of the two feature updates for Windows 10 in 2017. While this year we only got one, Microsoft has confirmed that there will be two updates next year — one in March, and the next, Redstone 3, later down the line.
