Windows 10 Redstone 3 Could Launch As Version 1711
« on: February 13, 2017, 09:25:57 PM »
Mark your calendars, people! In another forward-looking rumor, we have a claim that Windows 10 Redstone 3 will be launching as version 1711 later this year.

And by the same token, this particular update will hit RTM stage in late October.

At least, that’s what Redmond is planning.

This has been revealed by WZor, a prominent leaker of Microsoft information, who also claimed earlier today that the Windows 10 Creators Update, known by the codename of Redstone 2, is on track to hit the important RTM milestone within the next month.

Anywhere from March 7 to March 14.

Getting back to Redstone 3, though, while we have known for a while that this update will land in the fall, this new information provided provides a closer look at proceedings after the launch of the Creators Update.

It appears that Microsoft is targeting a November 2017 date for Redstone 3, with the first builds for Insiders set to be released sometimes in late April.

The version 1711 bit, then, once again aligns with the naming strategy the software titan has in place for each update — the first two digits representing the year, while the other two standing for the month. In this case, the year is 2017 and the month, November.

And while this information is still unverified, even if it comes from a fairly reliable source, this launch of Redstone 3 would mark two years after the arrival of the first major update for the platform.

Windows 10 November Update, known as version 1511, made its way out around this timeframe too.
