HP Omen X Compact Desktop VR backpack video review
« on: December 18, 2017, 02:56:22 PM »

Your standard PC VR setup is usually a stationary affair, but backpack VR PCs, which let you take the experience mobile, are starting to crop up more and more. One of the more interesting options out there is the HP Omen X Compact Desktop, and we recently spent some time with the backpack PC for an in-depth video review.

The HP Omen X Compact Desktop sits in a dock and, despite its unique looks, offers a pretty standard desktop experience when hooked up to your monitor. However, the tower can be undocked and slotted into a battery-powered backpack setup to allow for total freedom of movement while you're adventuring in VR.

While not cheap - it starts at $2,499 - the HP Omen X Compact Desktop is a stunning piece of hardware that is very gaming capable.
