LG Windows 7 Phone Hitting, September

All those rumors of a Windows 7 delay may have been false after all. Electronista reports on a leak from LG's design lab to the French site Presse-Citron. They stated that a new phone using the Windows 7 OS will be launching later this year in Europe, and then the United States.

The WinMo 7 phone is said to launch in September, and LG also has an Android 2.1 phone prepped for launch in April. Considering how wholly unimpressive Windows Mobile 6.5 has turned out to be, 7 can't come soon enough. If these rumors turn out to be true, Microsoft just might have a chance of recapturing some of the mobile OS market. I wouldn't hold my breath on it if I were Redmond, though.
