Nokia N900 Maemo Hacked to Run Max OS X 10.3
« on: February 01, 2010, 05:45:25 PM »
Linux platform has been always first choice of platform of system madders, tweakers & developers. We have seen how Android mobile os which is based on Linux kernel has been modded to support many unsupported features like tethering, multi touch etc.
Now Maemo a Debian based Nokia OS is becoming popular among hackers. Few days back we had reported how Nokia N900 running Maemo was hacked to run Android in dual boot. Now here is even more interesting hack, this time Toni Nikkanen has managed to get Mac OS X 10.3 – the Power PC version – running on his N900.

This Mac OS X is not native install on N900 instead it runs on PearPC emulator, because of which it is not actually usable implementation, and quite slow proof of concept.

It took over an hour and a half to boot and get to the “About this Mac” dialogue box. Check out below video which has been edited to included only major events to show Nokia N900 running Mac OS X.
