Desktop short cuts
« on: March 31, 2009, 11:53:43 PM »
Hi all

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.

Does anybody Know how to remove those annoying little arrows that get tagged onto the shortcut icons.
I now they are there to tell me their short cuts but i think they spoil the look of the desktop..

UPDATE..
Ok i think i solved this one to remove the arrows from the shortcut icons i did the following..

                                                       BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY
1. Open Regedit (click Start type regedit into search box & double click regedit.exe

2. Navigate to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> lnkfile (LNKFILE)

3. Delete the following key “IsShorcut”

4. Close REGEDIT and Restart your computer to take effect.

No arrows and all links still work ok.

..........or just download and install the free windows ultimate tweak. then navigate to additional options in left pane and then once you are inside there scroll down to 3rd window and place a check mark in the "remove shortcut arrow..."     ;D

Dude, if you are worried about it messing with the look of the desktop, then just make use of the really nice quicklaunch bar.
