The First 5 Things You'll Do with Your iPad
« on: March 28, 2010, 03:25:46 AM »

This isn’t just any tablet, after all. You need to plan out your first moments with Apple’s most-talked-about device.

Stare at it Lovingly

When something is as “magical as the Apple iPad, it seems only reasonable to spend some quality time simply looking at it. I do wonder if you stare longer at a 64GB 3G version than you do a 16GB WiFi one.

Kiss It

You paid at least $499 for the iPad and will use it all over your home and maybe even, sometimes, on the road. The iPad is your new best friend and deserves a little affection. Don’t worry, the lip marks should wipe right off that shiny screen

Get it a Snuggie and a Little Recliner

You haven’t wanted something so desperately since you begged for your first bicycle. You need to pamper this iPad. Obviously, the recliner and Snuggie (or Slanket, if that’s your preference) need to be much smaller than normal ones, but think of how safe and warm your Apple iPad will be.

Snap a Photo to post on Twitter

What good is having a few followers on Twitter if you can’t taunt them with your latest acquisition? I’d suggest doing this photo right. No cell-phone snapshots for the iPad. Grab an easel and use a decent D-SLR, or maybe a new Micro Four Thirds camera. As always, get at eye level, so your iPad doesn’t look distorted. Post the image on Twitter and watch the ReTweets and replies pile up.

Load Windows 7 On It

It’s a neat idea, but also probably a bit of a pipe-dream. The Apple iPad lacks both an SD slot and a USB port. Still, even as I write this, I fully expect someone to figure out how to hack the iPad and force it to run Microsoft’s popular OS. Now the only question left to ask is: “Why?”
