Earlier last week we asked you to share your favorite tools for making the most of your multi-monitor setup. You responded, we tallied the nominations and put the top five up for a vote, and now we're back with the results.
What's most notable about both the initial vote and the final Hive poll is that <a href="Windows 7">Windows 7 was the only operating system that was given any sort of nomination and it went on to win with 27% of the vote. Following Windows 7 was <a href="UltraMon">UltraMon with 25% of the vote.

Certainly a close winner and first runner-up but notable because under previous Windows incarnations like Windows XP multi-monitor support was so sketchy that you needed applications like UltraMon and <a href="DisplayFusion">Display Fusion (19%) to make your setup tolerable. Things have changed so much in the intervening decade that Windows 7 stands on its own with excellent multi-monitor support—that said I certainly love Windows 7 + Display Fusion Pro. Standing apart from the rest of the Hive was <a href="Synergy">Synergy (23%) as the only application that bridged between operating systems instead of simply improving one operating system. Rounding out the top five was <a href="MultiMon">MultiMon with 2% of the vote.
